1-on-1 Personal Training
Working with Britt has transformed my relationship with strength and movement. While I have worked with many personal trainers in the past, none have been as intuitive and skilled as Britt. As someone who has had a very toxic relationship with body image and movement, finding a "safe" trainer that would not recommend or support weight loss was imperative. Britt is fully a weight-neutral and fat-positive trainer, rooted in Health at Every Size and social justice. There is NO talk of weight loss and our work together has greatly contributed to increased body acceptance and a better relationship to movement. I recommend Britt to everyone I know- she is one of a kind and life changing!

Support to Return to Outdoor Activities
I began working with Brittany after I had a rather bad skiing accident in my early 50s that put me in a wheelchair for several months. As I recovered and shifted away from physical therapy, I really wanted to get back to hiking and cycling (skiing, not so much!). She expertly created a program that helped me regain my range of motion, balance, and strength. I am now able to hike up Skinner Mountain and cycle in Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. I especially appreciate her attention to form and ability to set goals that are obtainable without a lot of pressure. She has my best interests at heart and our work together has become a central part of my ability to manage the live stresses that come my way, especially in these unsettled times.

Virtual Training
I have been meeting on Zoom with Mary from My Health Matters for just over a year now, and it has been an incredible experience! Mary did a great job meeting me where I'm at (honestly, a little traumatized from gym classes and generally not a fan of fitness), and I have gotten so much stronger! After a couple of months, I realized that not only was I doing okay with our sessions-- I was even LOOKING FORWARD to them! I recommend MHM all the time.

Safe, Inclusive Space
This studio is the most friendly and welcoming experience I’ve ever had at a “gym”. What Britt has going here is truly a special, safe, inclusive space for everyone. All of the instructors are so kind, patient and helpful. The classes are challenging but tailored to each individual in the class (harder or easier as needed). Everyone is truly supportive of everyone else and encouraging each other to do what their individual self needs at the moment. So thankful to have found this wonderful community that Britt has built.

Knowledgeable, Supportive Instructors
My Health Matters is a very special and unique fitness studio. I should know because I have been a member since Day-1,
Class-1!
Britt has created a space that is diverse and completely committed to body acceptance and working with people of all ages, sizes and shapes. The general “feel” of the studio is warm, friendly, supportive, accepting, and downright silly, at times.
You’ll most likely be greeted with a personal “hello” when you arrive and a personal, “have a good day/night", when you leave.
Britt has chosen knowledgeable, sensitive, and fun trainers, all of whom have their own styles of teaching so even if you take similar classes on different days, they can feel utterly unique and challenging in their own way depending on who is teaching. But regardless with whom you might be training, there is always this common thread: that class instruction is designed to encourage each person to LISTEN TO THEIR OWN BODY. It helps that there are no mirrors in which to reflect back self-criticism and there is no talk of dieting or "earning" one’s food through exercise.
We are reminded and invited at each and every class to do what feels good to our bodies, at this time, on this particular day. We are given the opportunity, and clear instructions on how to make an exercise more challenging to achieve, or maintain, strength and flexibility. But most importantly, we are offered alternative exercises or accommodations with every movement in order to decide, individually, what to do to prevent injury but still achieve our personal goals.
There are many classes to choose from: some, like Spin, emphasize cardio, others, strength or flexibility, and still others, balance and stretching. There are Barre classes that focus on small muscle groups, Yoga, Core-focused classes, Boxing, TRX, along with Small Group or 1:1 Training sessions. Something for every body.
So, come check out the place and see how it feels to you. You'll TRULY be welcomed exactly where you are in your fitness and/or body journey.Diane N

Finding Joyful Movement
From the first large group class I took here, I fell in love with the space! I've had 3 different instructors and they are all fantastic and so knowledgeable in how to train all different types of folks. It's incredible to walk into a gym and feel completely comfortable. Thank you so much for helping me find joy in movement again.

Warm, Inviting Space
MHM is one of the best "gyms" I have belonged to. The interior has been decorated so that it does not feel like a gym! Britt has done an amazing job creating a warm, inviting space. The classes are fabulous, the instructors are great, and it is a place to meet new (and old) friends. I am so thankful for it, I am proud and grateful to be a founding member.

Postpartum Support
It's not easy to trust others with the care of my postpartum body. As many of us live our lives being told that others know best about our health, only to find out that bodies like mine are pathologized based on unquestioned biases about "obesity" and a general disinterest in bodies with uteruses, I'm always nervous that I'm going to be hurt or disappointed by practitioners that usually have the best intentions. I have deeply appreciated Britt's approach to supporting my postpartum health journey. She supports me to listen to my body, to appreciate my body, to move my body in ways that feel generative and life-affirming. She knows the tape playing in my head that wants to punish me for "never doing enough" and she is skilled at offering counter-narratives... "you're doing it" and "you're on the right track" and "I'm so proud of you". I'm so grateful to get to work with her on getting my body to a place where I can play with my toddler and delight in this one precious life with less pain and more conscious embodiment.

No Mirrors- Just Supportive Trainers
MHM is the real deal 💜 They actively practice what they preach — they are inclusive in every way, affirming and encouraging, and have created a space that really feels different. No mirrors on the wall to pick yourself apart, just supportive trainers you can trust to keep it real AND celebrate your wins! Every poster on the wall affirms the space you’re in - you are safe in this space, exactly as you are. Every human I’ve met there is welcoming. They keep it real! You can show up having a tough day and be treated with compassion. They also have all the tools to make your good day even better. Working with Tiff has been one of the very best things I’ve ever done for myself - she is so knowledgeable, encouraging, and supportive. If you’re a former or current dancer, she is your girl! Britt and Tiff never miss an opportunity for a hello - you will immediate feel at ease with them. If you’re looking for a safe, inclusive place for movement.. you’ve got your place. Highly, highly recommend.
